Shaun Gaus

Shaun Gaus, Chief Executive Officer of Microbest, has over 24 years of experience in the specialty manufacturing industry, with the majority of that time spent in leadership roles. Prior to joining Microbest, Shaun served as President/CEO for a number of globally recognized companies and has a proven track record of driving value creation through profitable growth and operational efficiency improvements. He has extensive international experience and is fluent in German technical and business language. His areas of expertise include strategic planning and execution, business restructuring/turnaround, commercial operations, new product commercialization, channel-to-market strategies, LEAN/operational efficiency, performance management, and mergers and acquisitions. Shaun holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Lehigh University, where he also serves on the Advisory Council for the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering. Shaun is an active member of YPO - Connecticut River Valley Chapter. He enjoys snowboarding, fishing, boating, and spending time with his wife and four children.

Paul Lemay, Microbest Chief Operating Officer.

Paul Lemay

Paul Lemay, President/Chief Operating Officer, has been with Microbest since 2012. Before Paul’s time at Microbest he has over 30 years of experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry ranging from small private companies to larger publicly held companies. He started out running machines which led to programming multiple axis precision machines and on to designing and building of tooling and gages to creating and developing new processes. He has extensive firsthand experience in all facets of running a successful production machine shop and has brought this knowledge to Microbest which enables his success in overseeing manufacturing, engineering, and quality. Paul’s hobbies include saltwater fishing, golf, motorcycling and shooting sports.

Greg Smith, Microbest Vice President of Engineering

Greg Smith

Greg Smith, Vice President of Engineering, has been with Microbest for 7 years. Greg has broad experience in many industries, including aerospace & defense, medical, electronics and firearms. He has held a variety of executive and managerial positions in organizations ranging from small job shops to Fortune 500 companies. Most recently coming to Microbest from Goodrich Pump & Engine Control Systems, where he was the Mechanical Engineering Manager. He holds a BS from the University of Rhode Island; is a Certified Tool & Die Maker, an apprenticeship requiring 8,000 hours; and has extensive Lean and Six Sigma experience. Greg’s hobbies include beekeeping and restoring vintage cars - currently two 1965 Volvos. His philosophy at Microbest is, “Don’t let ‘perfect’ get in the way of ‘better.’”

Jeff Myer, Microbest Vice President of Technology Systems

Jeff Myer

Jeff Myer, Vice President of Technology/Systems, was originally hired in 1997 as an Engineering Technician. Jeff has contributed to improvement efforts across all areas of the business, including CNC Programming, Resource/Requirement Planning, Metrology and more. His expertise has been instrumental in many cross-functional initiatives throughout Microbest. He holds an AS in Mechanical Engineering and enjoys running and motorsports outside of work.
 

Michael Altberg, Microbest Vice President of Sales.

Michael Altberg

Michael Altberg, Vice President of Sales, has been with Microbest for 33 years. Hired in 1987 as a Tool Maker and Secondary Operations Manager, his responsibilities have included Materials Manager, Engineering & Tool Room Supervisor, purchasing, facility maintenance and more. He attended Western Connecticut State University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors boating, hunting, fishing, camping and traveling.
 

Teresa Burdick, Microbest Vice President of Human Resources.

Teresa Burdick

Teresa Burdick, Vice President of Human Resources, has been with Microbest since 1996. She started her career in the front office and attended night classes to obtain a degree in Business Administration. Throughout her time with Microbest, Teresa has worked to create an HR environment based on a quote from noted author Douglas Adams: “To give real advice, you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity.” Teresa is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Vivian Vasilescu

Vivian Vasilescu, Microbest’s Controller, recently joined the company in 2020.  With over 22 years of experience, Vivian bring us a strong background in hands on financial reporting, accounting and auditing for manufacturing companies.  Vivian started her career in Public Accounting while serving clients in various industries.  Vivian holds a CPA license as well as a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Sacred Heart University.  In her spare time, Vivian enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
